      Nanomaterials 2004
      Two Consecutive Conferences
Nanoelectronics, Nanophotonics, Nanomagnetics (October 25-26, 2004)
      Nanobiotechnology, Nanomedicine (October 27, 2004)

      Stamford Marriott
Stamford, CT, USA (Just outside New York City)

Nanomaterials and nanoscale engineering will play a critical role in the
future of information technology and biotechnology. Indeed, they are already
an integral part of today's data storage media, semiconductor manufacturing,
biomedical research and emerging memory, computing and optical and sensing
devices. Nanoparticles, quantum dots, nanowires, nanotubes, and nanoscale
films along with new nanofabrication technologies - such as chemical
self-assembly and novel soft lithography techniques - will allow for
continued advancements in a diverse range of products, from non-volatile
memory and hard disk drives to drug delivery systems and chemical sensors.
BCC's unique meetings bridge the gap between technology and
commercialization and attract an international group of participants that
represent the research, business, and investment communities. Some
highlights from the conference are summarized below:

BCC will present its second annual "Leadership in Nanomaterials" award. The
award will recognize the company that has shown the most in leadership in
nanomaterials commercialization, as determined by an online voting process.
IBM research was the recipient of last year's award. This year, the
      following companies have been nominated.

To participate, vote before October 1, at

      Carbon Nanotechnologies
      Degussa Advanced Nanomaterials
      Lucent Technologies
      Nanophase Technologies Corp.
      Nanosys Inc.
      Quantum Dot Corp.

      October 24 - Pre-conference tutorial workshops:
Nanophotonics: Technology and Applications led by Dr. Paras N. Prasad,
Executive Director, Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics, State
      University of New York at Buffalo;
New Challenges in Chemical-Mechanical Planarization led by Dr. S. V. Babu,
Director, Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP), and Vice Provost,
Research, Clarkson University, along with Dr. Goodarz Ahmadi, Clarkson
Distinguished Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical
      Engineering, Clarkson University.
