ELTnet

English Language Teachers’ Network

What is ELTnet?

ELTnet is a British Council project in Venezuela aimed at incorporating secondary school EFL teachers into networking.

Why ELTnet?

The work done by the British Council has always involved relationships with teachers at all educational levels all over the world. An example of this can be seen in Venezuela where several projects have been successfully directed towards the secondary and tertiary levels during the last two years. However, and in spite of that success, all goals have not been met yet. There is still a need for deepening and strengthening the relationships with secondary school English language teachers, especially those who work in the public sector. Many of them do not even know about the enormous potential and sources available for professional and academic development they have at the British Council. The purpose of this project is to reach the maximum number of secondary school EFL teachers in Venezuela in order to create a network that allow them to organize themselves, keep connected, have a space for discussions on new trends in ELT, and be benefited from the British Council services and trainings.

What do I need to participate in ELTnet?

To participate in ELTnet you just need to:

• be a secondary school EFL teacher, preferably belonging to the public sector of the Venezuelan educational system
• have an email account, and
• have Internet access
