As a breast cancer survivor myself (mascectomy March 2000), I can
fully understand and offer moral support. As for wearing the gown...
I personally don't bother with the prosthesis - mine usually ends up
on my shoulder - don't know why, but it's funny. I used humour to
get through it all - docs thought I was crazy, which is probably
true. When people do happen to notice that I list starboard (leftie
is missing), I normally say something like, "It was a horrible
accident...." or "Ya know, those Amazon women used to cut off one
breast to become better archers..." - which was even funnier because
I worked for Amazon.com in facilities at the time. So, if ya need a
laugh when you're feeling blue about it all, let me know - I've got
LOTS of stories.
Never give up and never give in.
