FYI. The more the merrier. Also If someone could pass this on to the folks from Fallow & Avalon who do rattan and/or fencing, that would be great. Richard

      Subject: [sca-ducks] Monthly Tournaments

Greetings to all rattan fighters, fencers, those who like to watch, and
those who just want a reason to come talk, eat, and hang out.

As an excuse to have more fun, we will be hosting a monthly tournament at
the BAT practice. The tourney will be open to any fighters that attend, but
the fun is open to everyone.

There will be a small prize for the fighter that wins the tourney. Along
with the prize, the winner of the tourney will 'host' the next tourney. This
means they get to determine the format, and help the marshall run the
tourney. You may enter/win multiple tourneys, but you cannot enter a tourney
that you are hosting. At the end of the year, we shall have a Grand
Tournament; where all of the monthly winners will be entered.

The tourneys will be at the beginning(ish) of each month. The first one will
be December 14th. Practice starts at Noon, the fencing tourney will begin
promptly at 1:00; and the rattan tourney will follow; allowing time for
those that wish to compete in both.
There will also be time and space to practice before, during, and after the
      tournament.

We would love to have lots of folks come out and watch, talk, or whatever.
Bring projects or just come visit.

Directions and such can be found here:

      See you on the 14th.

      Champion to Eularia and Alexandre

PS. For those interested in practicing, we will also be meeting this Sunday,
the 7th. (Current plans have us practicing on the 21st... but that is a bit
      tentative.)

      -----------------------------------------------------

Fighter: I don't get it. You're so good, why do you practice every week?
Duke: (smiling) You're right, you don't get it.
