Follow The Gypsy Caravan!
Saturday, May 22nd, 2004 to Sunday, May 23rd, 2004
Hosted by Barony of An Dubhaigeainn - Smithtown, NY
Join the Romani for a weekend filled with activities, featuring
weapons skills of all types, drumming, dancing, shopping, grazing,
fortunes and fables, all designed to lift your spirits (while
perhaps lightening your purse).
There will be a Thrown Weapons Tourney, the winner of which will be
crowned "Rom Baro (King of the Gypsies)". There will also be Youth
Combat (as well as other children's activities), Archery, 2 Fencing
competitions, a Brewing Competition, a Drumming Circle, Belly
Dancing lessons, Fortune telling, Merchanting and a day-long BBQ
dayboard On Saturday. A Bardic circle may happen in the evening by
the firelight, as the Rom are great and effusive storytellers.
For those who choose to camp over, Breakfast will be available
Sunday Morning. This is an historically significant site, so please
observe all safety rules - campfires will only be in designated
firepits. Toilet facilities are available, however showers are not.
