Before the winter snows fly, please join us for a day dedicated to classes
followed by an evening of dancing and socializing. Come learn games to play
by the fire, dances to make your Yule more festive, get ideas for 12th Night
gifts and much, much more. An entire track of classes will be devoted to
topics of special interest for those new to the SCA. After dinner we will
be teaching period dances, and dancing into the evening. In addition to the
day's classes, we will also have a heraldry name and device
reference/consultation table, and a gaming table.
During the lunch break a fashion show will be held. If you are interested
in participating, please provide the following information to Margarete
(rufquad@...): your name, what you will be wearing, an
approximately time period and place where it is from, an estimate on the
number of hours it took to make it and your favorite thing about it.
The Keeper's of Athena's Thimble will be holding paneling for ranking in the
Embroiders Guild of the East Kingdom. Everyone is encouraged to bring along
their needlework, be you a beginner or long time lover of the needle arts,
to be reviewed by the panel. If you wish to know more about the needlework
categories and the ranking system please check out
http://www.athenasthimble.com for information and panel forms.
A day board will be provided and the Shire of Hartshorn-dale will be
providing meat and rice with sauces for both as the basis for a pot-luck
feast. If your SCA first name begins with A-H, please bring an appetizer,
salad or non-alcoholic beverage to share with 8-10 people. If your SCA
first name begins with I-O, please bring a side dish or an additional main
dish to feed 8-10 people. If your SCA first name begins with P-Z, please
bring a dessert. If you wish to bring a dish that is not compatible with
this, please find someone to switch with or contact the autocrats. While we
encourage people to bring period dishes, we recognize that not everyone will
be able to do so. Please also bring a list of the ingredients in your dish
to assure that those with allergies are not unpleasantly surprised.
