I work as a security guard at night and last night they put me at a business that is located on McBride Ave in Little Falls. This location is right next to the Passaic River and the river is now overflowing into the parking lot. The business is really scared of this next rainfall.

      All

      An update on the flooding.

Although there is flooding now, it is basically a small operation for us.  We have supplied some cots to some municipalities, and done some other things to help surrounding communities to the Passaic river.

However, rain is predicted for tomorrow and according to DA It looks like the flooding may get bad by Friday or Saturday. The NWS is just now posting forecasts for Thursday’s storm and its affect on the rivers.

Still too early to tell whether or not this will turn into a mess like last year, but it is more than a possibility at this time.  Or we may dodge a bullet.

Please be aware that we will need to support DA like last time and will need radio operators.

I will send another email when and if the situation worsens.  Please pass along this update and ask Ham operators to please stay in touch as if this becomes a 2010 redux it will be more than a week of Ham radio operations.

      Thanks all
