Subject: ARRL NNJ Sectionwide ARES Alert Status Raised To MONITORING as of 12:00 Noon 10/25/2012 in preparation for SANDY
      Importance: High

Be advised that as of 12:00 Noon today, Thursday, October 25 2012, the ARRL NNJ Section ARES Alert Status has been raised to MONITORING in expectation of local, possible significant impacts, from SANDY.

MONITORING: A Heightened State Of Awareness Is Requested Of All NNJ ARES Members By Leadership And Communications To/From Leadership With Local ARES Members Is Initiated

Should the NWS and the NHC continue with their current thinking on the expected track and landfall locations for SANDY (into the NNJ Section and nearby areas), I expect that we will further increase the NNJ ARES Alert Status Sectionwide to higher levels within the next 24-36 hours.

Local ARES Leadership may also increase the Alert Status within their local jurisdictions as well, to levels higher than what is implemented Sectionwide!

All NNJ ARES Members are encouraged to being to actively monitor this developing situation and to begin their initial preparations, including being in contact with your local ARES Leadership.

      Stay Alert and Stay Safe

The Official NHC Track Forecast for SANDY is at:
