NWS New York has just added a Class in the NNJ Section (Bergen County). If you or anyone needs to re-train  or to become first time trained as an NWS SKYWARN Spotter, there is no requirement that a person only attend a Class in their County of Residence...or even within the County Warning Area of their residence. All Spotters (both with NWS New York and NWS Mt Holly are required to re-train at least once every 3 years!)

Info on the Class in Bergen County NJ is:

      May 15 2012
      7:00 Pm to 9:30 PM
Bergen County Law and Public Service Institute
      281 Campgaw Road
      Mahwah, NJ

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and can be done online at:

And as a reminder...the SKYWARN Class on May 9 in Morris County NJ has been filled and no additional registrations are being taken at this time...so if you or someone you know needs to  become trained or to re-train...the Bergen County Class is the only one currently on the NWS  schedules in the NNJ Section . More info on NWS Mt Holly taught classes is at: http://www.erh.noaa.gov/er/phi/skywarn/training.html#sched
