      Registration begins                    May 14 @ 9:00am

       

      Ice Cream Social                        June 4 from 2:00 to 3:00 – Drop in at the library for a cool kick off for the

                                                                                                      Summer Reading Program  – Everyone is welcome

       

      Begin Recording Reading & Listening Minutes   June 4 - Summer Reading Program (SRP) participants may begin recording their reading and listening minutes in their reading log.    After SRP participants have recorded a minimum of 120 minutes, they must bring their report log to the library and give their report to receive an incentive prize.  The reports can be written or drawn on a blank page in the reading log.  Oral reports may be given also.  It may take 1, 2, 5, or more days to reach the120 minute goal!  Participants will complete the program after they have given a minimum of 5 reports and will at that time receive a t-shirt!  Participants may fill as many report logs as they wish.  All reports must be given by 5:00pm, July 31st in order to be counted.

      *Crafts - $1.00 per session.  For children ages 5 and older. Drop in between 2:00pm and 3:30pm to make fun “Dream Big - READ” Crafts.  Pre-payment and pre-registration is needed.

      Storytime - Each Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday @ 10:30am – The Storytime Program is designed for preschool age children accompanied by a caregiver, but all ages are welcome.  There is no charge or registration needed.

       

      Funny Friday – June 29thWear a funny outfit to the library and get a free paperback book for your own home library. There is no charge or registration needed.

       

      Create Your Own Planet Contest - Entries will be accepted from 9:00am, June 18th until 5:00pm, June 30th.  Voting will begin at 9:00am, July 2nd and continue until 5:00pm, June 21st.  The entries may be taken home immediately after the announcement of the winners at 2:00pm, Monday, July 23rd.  Entries must be taken home by 5:00pm, July 28th.  See your friendly librarians and flyer for more information.

       

      Annual closing SRP Picnic - August 3rd from 11:00am to 1:00pm, in the Elko City Park (across from the tennis courts and behind the Museum).  There is no charge or registration needed.

        Reach for the stars this summer as the Elko County Library presents “Dream Big - READ” as the theme for their annual summer reading program.  Children will explore the stars, moon, and night creatures through stories, crafts, music, and special programs. 

         

        The 2012 summer reading program will consist of 3 special groups: “Rock-A-Bye Babies” for children 0 to 3, “The Star Readers” for children 4 to 11, and “Own the Night” for young adults 11 to 18.  Participants in each group will receive special reading logs, be able to participate in programs designed for their group, and will have the chance to earn incentive prizes, and t-shirts.

         

        Registration for all groups will begin May 14th, so stop in at the Elko County Library located at 720 Court Street or call 738-3066 to learn more.

          Explore the world this summer as the Elko County Library presents “Dig Into Reading” as the theme for their annual summer reading program.  Children will explore history, dinosaurs, fossils, rocks and minerals, burrowing animals, and lots more treasures through stories, crafts, music, and special programs. 

           

          The 2013 summer reading program will consist of 3 special groups: “Dino-Might Babies” for children 0 to 3, “Dig In Readers” for children 4 to 11, and “Beneath the Surface” for young adults 11 to 18.  Participants in each group will receive special reading logs, be able to participate in programs designed for their group, and will have the chance to earn incentive prizes, and t-shirts.

           

          Registration for all groups will begin May 13th, so stop in at the Elko County Library located at 720 Court Street or call 738-3066 to learn more.
