        Celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Birthday

        Thursday, February 9, 2012 @ 3:30pm

Step back in time as we celebrate the birth of one of America’s most beloved authors, Laura Ingalls Wilder, at the Elko County Library, Thursday, February 9th at 3:30.   Participants will have the chance to practice writing with a quill pen, making butter and an old-timey toy.  There will also be artisans demonstrating wool carding, spinning, weaving, and other activities that would have been a part of Laura’s and her family’s everyday life.  Participants are welcome to wear period costumes and/or bring period items they would like to share with the group.

This is a free program, but pre-registration is suggested so that there are enough supplies for everyone.  All children need to be accompanied by an adult.  To register or for more information, please visit the library at 720 Court St. or call 738-3066.
