not me.... 270 ... this was my first time.   I have not decided if I will continue or just call it quits.   I would love to hear some opinions on continuing vs backing out gracefully.

I am now a media specialist and it would be very difficult to go back into a classroom to redo portfolio entries.

I really didn't expect to pull it off the first time and was pretty satisfied with my scores EXCEPT entry 4 (accomplishments) ..... that one floored me.

Congrats to those who were successful this year!

Hello, group! I passed as a second timer. I redid both of my videos
and did excellent on entry 2. I am glad I redid both of my videos
because it gave me time to think about what I am doing and what do
more research on inquiry. When rethinking my entries, I focused on
what I did and then reread the rubrics for the millionth time. I
really wanted to learn from this experience. Don't get me wrong that
scared me completely because I thought I was doing everything right
already. I even had someone else watch my videos to see if they saw
what I saw. It really was a time for me to re-examine myself as a
teacher. Am I glad I redid my entries? Yes. If I would have failed
again, would I have kept on going? No. It took so much out of my
family for 2 years. When deciding whether to retake or not, each of
us need to examine ourselves for ourselves. This process is long and
hard. With no individual feedback, it seems impossible to know what
          is the right way sometimes.
          Good Luck with your decision!!

hard for me to do because I am somewhat of a dictator. I have
decided to redo my two videos and if I dont' get it next time then I
will bow out. I also was frustrated with my entry 4! I had
outstanding accomplishments and great parent contact and I scored a
          3. The only thing I can think is that is way the way I had it
written because there is nothing else I could have done to improve my
accomplishments. I just really hate the fact that no feedback is
given. I want to know exactly what I did wrong!

you think you did poorly on Entry 4? Yes, continue. Just redo your
lowest scored entry. Teachers at my school have and applied for
assistance to pay for the one or two entries they redid. You might
find somewhere out there that will help you out and pay. I think 270
is way to close of a passing score not to continue. Good luck.

"Anticipation Guides" is a fancy, elitist, term and a creative design for "the ol'"  pre/post test.

Also, the EA/SCI field traditionally averages the lowest scores as compared to the other fields of certification.  If you did not achieve NBPT Certification this year, get all upset for about a week, then pick yourself up by your boot straps, figure out how many points/weight you need to "pass," which Entry(ries) do you have the most "control" over (usually 1 - 3), and re-apply.  Try to find a free money source in your community for the cost of the re-do and realize that now you have much more time to complete that entry and have sight of a specific numeric goal to achieve by adhering to the rubric, scoring guide, and especially the introductory pages of that entry in the "Portfolio Guide."
