      Fascinating Masterbone,

Why don't you lot slink off back into the darkness where you belong? Declare war on proper adventurers? Your lot wouldn't last a day in a concerted effort. Go on prod the King, invade his courtyards, make a mess of the peaceful inhabitants of the courtyards, see what happens... Hmm, "King Dirk I declares war on all Evil Monster Leaders, then orders all the Guilds to seek and destroy....".

      What an interesting scenario.

      Sincerely,

      Chaldan Ironhoof

My, I do find that so very interesting! Are you suggesting that the monster leaders would be killed by the assembled powers of the guilds, while they are already spread throughout the kingdom and elsewhere? Do you know where they plan to strike? Even if you did, what makes you think that they will actually die and stay dead? I bet the Walkers that I killed are still dead though! The first Walker I killed was the centaur Dusk and my minions thought he was delicious.....

                        Monster,

Apparently it is beneath my dignity to respond to that comment. However, your threats against the Kingdom have been noted. We may indeed have other priorities, but these can easily change.

Thus far your little gang has claimed a handful of innocent lives, and no more. As sad as that may be, it is no more than a thousand other monsters can claim; Bereny endures.

If you wish to push your luck further, that is, naturally, your choice.

Why don't you lot slink off back into the darkness where you belong? Declare war on proper adventurers? Your lot wouldn't last a day in a concerted effort. Go on prod the King, invade his courtyards, make a mess of the peaceful inhabitants of the courtyards, see what happens... Interesting your words of outrage issue during an invasion of the Land of the Fae. Enjoying the death of creatures that have existed longer than your ephemeral Kingdom? Did the Prince of Autumn invade your lands? Ah but the ends justify the means.

You claim to follow laws and exert rights of ownership. Laws we don’t recognize and would not be protected by in any event. Ownership of Lands we walked before humans even existed.

I still think Masterbone is an insidious threat to be kept a watch on, but these Dark Lords claim to speak for the Fae and the original inhabitants of the land during the times of Thunder. They may be a greater threat than he. Perhaps they are the ones driving the vampire broods and other vampire monsters, the vampire council excluded, to appear across the land and in Korl in particular. It's a thought from observation of various missives.
The vein of darkness still runs deep with-in the rocks of our foundation and Fae of light frolic and enjoy the fruits of the gods of light freely though out the land. But the underground is the final bastion of the evil forces that once plagued us. they must be kept in check lest they once more overflow onto the surface and rot the harvest of our good fortune.

Lust for power. You carry the power of a dead god within you. You threaten to destroy an ancient land of magic to save your own. Your family made pacts with a Lord of death then broke your oaths and destroyed it when it came to claim recompense. You watched your relative, the true King, slain and claimed his Crown before his body was cold. I could go on but why bother.

You are as 'evil' as any other. The end justifies the means. Your word is Law. Might is right. We are no different except I am more honest as to my nature and intent.

We are coming. We are not the fools that went before. Run, hide, fight, it matters not. The end result will be the same. To the victors the spoils,

If you wish to negotiate a peaceful solution, then I will gladly debate these or any other matters you wish to raise; but while you threaten to sew carnage among the subjects I am sworn to protect, we have nothing to discuss.

<<The end justifies the means. Your word is Law. Might is right. >>

I broadly agree with the first two, but not the third. However, since that is a concept you value, I will resolve the matter with a simple duel if you wish. Surely the chance to slay the King of Bereny is worth the wager? All I ask is that you swear by whatever gods you hold dear that should I triumph, your Dark Path will leave Bereny in peace. In return I offer my life and my sword; both worthy prizes, you must agree.

Or are you afraid to face a single mortal man without a horde of gibbering minions to keep you safe? Does the Dark Path tolerate cowardice? Will you shame your order and prove yourself a shivering weakling before the filth that serve you?

Interesting that you refuse debate when you are in the wrong but are willing to expound at great length when you perceive others are.

I will answer your other points in reverse.

First do you think me a fool that you can anger me into a fight I have no need to wage? You mistake me and how our worlds are different. As you lurch from crisis to crisis, running hither and thither in a vain attempt to stave off disaster you demonstrate your incredible lack of leadership, vision and ability to plan. I am no human, nor am I a King. I am a Power and Domination. I am a God in Waiting. I do not sully my hands with menial tasks. My minions are my slaves. I do not ask them for their fealty and negotiate with them for their support. I demand their absolute obedience and anything short of that leads to their quick destruction. I care not what they may think of my rejection of your pathetic attempt to draw me into a pointless combat and less what you might try to make of it. I care little for the reaction of my fellow Lords though I would assume they will be as amused as me and as delighted by the weakness you reveal.

On the second matter we have no need to negotiate. It is interesting that when the weakling Grrrr! tried that as he fled from The Masterbone and you rejected his pleas. I can only assume you understand the very different capabilities of The Dark Path from that wretch. However we can be assuaged for a single year, if you wish, by a ransom of 50 million gold. Future years of peace will cost you more but then what price peace for your people King?

                                          Monster,

No indeed. It is not the subject I refuse to debate, but the individual.
