Lei didn't want to marry Shen, he was just too dull for words, but as a dutiful daughter she was doing it. She also didn't believe the "special joss sticks" that her grandmother had given her granted wishes, but she made a silent one without believing anyway.

To her great surprise her secret wish came true, although not in the way she worded it. Secretly being "into girls" she had wished that she could do something like this, only with another woman.
When the smoke cleared she found that was just what she was doing, Shen her husband to be, the official preforming the ceremony, and every other man at the event had been turned into young women!

Remarkably they didn't seem to notice, Shen even seemed to think her name was Sang now. Also to Lei's surprise both the former men made rather attractive women, unfortunately though now much cuter "Sang" was still very dull, and his taste in eyewear really didn't translate well into being on a girl.

She also saw that her grandmother had been turned into a woman who looked to be in her early twenties. "I see you didn't wish for prosperity or healthy children like a sensible woman, did you?" said her grandmother who seemed to be the only one who knew what had happened, and while a somewhat upset, found , on finding what had happened to her that she got over her upset quickly.

"Sorry," said Lei, "I really didn't think that sort of thing worked so I, well, I kind of messed around with my wish." "Yes I can see that!" said her grandmother who now seemed to be younger than her granddaughter was.

"What's going to happen when everyone leaves to go back to their everyday life?" asked Lei having a sudden thought. "I don't know," said her grandmother, "but if the joss sticks do like they are supposed to they should move things around so it all seems normal."

And indeed the magic joss sticks had, had attuned things so much that a full five block area had been turned into young Hong Kong women, with everyone adjusting soon enough, though the eighteen tourists visiting in the area from England and the United States took a little longer to adjust, particularly the former British Brigadier but those sorts can be rather set in their ways.
