- Oct 26 5:48 PMHere's an idea: have PseudoCon Saturday morning before the parade near the staging area! See the people getting ready from afar, maybe have a decent view and have something to motivate the couch potatoes. The Yahoo group folks might stop by as well if its publicized, since we are friends. If you are in Atlanta you can scope out a location, maybe a block away, but still walking distance. It might work. And the parade is open to all. The only down side is its early....On Oct 26, 2014, at 1:40 PM, forged03@... We will pack ourselves in our cars and crash Dragon Con to go see you guys!
I only hope I can be the kind of person my dogs think I am.

You can make this
as involved as your energy will allow. You decide
what kind of Pseudo Con you are willing have. The
original idea was to do something for those who can not
attend DragonCon for what ever reason. I hope you will
do what is good for you :)

This is very similar to something I tried before
with my fire spinning group. I have all kinds of nifty ideas
for get togethers that I've run across various people in
various groups, but people no longer are willing to commit.
They might get a better offer in 5 minutes, so everything is
a "maybe" so they can keep tabs on who might or
might not be there, then decide if they think it'll be
worth leaving the house for. The few that do bother to get
out and go are usually the ones most likely to keep coming
back because they've had fun. The hard part is
motivating people to actually do it. I'm not willing to
put a huge amount of effort into something for which I will
probably be the only attendee. That kind of thing gets old,
and I have multiples of that T-shirt. If I could guarantee a
decent result, I'd have no problems arranging
something.
We can call it PseudoCon ;)
It'd still be fun.
As much as I hate to say
it, I like the idea.

Maybe we need a "Can't go to DragonCon
but
We'll Be Nearby" support group meeting!
Yeah, this was our first year missing, and told people
"We're gonna be grumpy" ...... Then ended
up
in Conyers on Sunday and just kept feeling sick about
it.Sent from my BlackBerry® by Boost

It's always rough for me because I live
locally. Not much breaks my heart faster and harder
than
seeing the hotels from the highway and knowing most of
the
people I'd like to see are there and I'm not.
It's a rough weekend for me, even if I have other
things
to do. It'll get better :)
I only hope I can be the kind of person my dogs think I
am.

Wow DM, your story sounds like allot of us. We're
trying to get better, when someone asks "Are you
going
to XYZ", at saying "Won't know til right
before"Sent from my BlackBerry® by Boost
