Reminder: Design Review Committee Hearing on 37-story High Rise at 1443 Alice
This Wed May 23 the City of Oakland Design Review Committee will review the proposed 37-story high rise at 1443 Alice Street. The building would contain approximately 240-245 residential units and would be the tallest building in Oakland.
One benefit of the project could be that it brings high-income earners into the neighborhood which could attract more retail. However, at the May 15 community meeting hosted by the developer, concerns were expressed by residents about the height, design, lack of adequate parking and lack of ground floor retail.
If you would like to learn more about the project or speak in support of or in opposition to it, you should attend next Wednesday's meeting:
WHEN: Wednesday, May 23 @ 4:30 p.m. 1443 Alice Street is the 3rd item on the agenda, so it probably won't be heard until sometime between 5:00-6:00.
WHERE: Hearing Room 1, City Hall (One Frank Ogawa Plaza)
