  • Hi Benja I use 1 metre to fill a 2" column the width of the mesh. You lay it on a flat table and roll it up if you pull it wider as you roll it will be loose in the column. Just push each roll in the column, very easy if worried roll it up and measure the diameter then cut it off. Them measure the length. When column full try to blow through column, it should be easy to blow...

  • Hi Kye Stainless is great as long as it is packed with copper mesh to remove the sulphides. Both work great as long as the Stainless still has copper mesh. If they tell you do not need copper in a stainless still, they need to taste the difference. I started with stainless mesh in my stainless still and thought my product was great. After reading all past posts decided to buy...

Thanks Happy drinking Stevo > This book was published in 1867 and is therefore earlier than The > Household Cyclopedia which was published in 1881. > Like the The Household Cyclopedia it contains a section on > Distillation. • Hi Marc $10.00 + GST Total $11.00 for either 10 or 25 Litres. They are this price only as they are getting rid of them. I noticed the tap for the 60-litre drum was HDPE also. I paid the same as you for them. Did not see UN barrels. Happy drinking Stevo > Were the smaller carboys cheap as well? Did you see those UN barrels > from their site? I asked for a price for them as well but...

  • Hi Marc Yes I bought 3 sizes 10, 25. 60 litres. Also grabed a Kautex catalogue that states they are HDPE. I also searched the net and Kautex only appear to make Carboy series 350 in HDPE. I'm not worried as I saw Harry's containers when I was up North and they are fine. Will test a small one when I have time. I will certainly use the 60 Litre one to ferment in also. They are great...

  • Thanks Marc Great info. The thing that is suspicious is the symbol on the bottom of the containers that is PE inside the triangle. Harry mentioned in a post recently that HDPE symbol is 2 inside triangle. The manufacture date of Carboys is 03 wondering if symbol has changed. The documentation says HDPE and they say they are HDPE. If you read this Harry have you seen the symbol PE...
