      I don't know how accurate this is ... but if water has a density of 1.000
      g/mL (at 4C ?) and ethanol has a density of 0.789 g/mL (at 20C=68F), then
      you can draw up a wee table of %av vs SG using :

      SG = (%av * 0.789) + ((100-%av) * 1.000)

      ie for 75%av SG=(0.75*0.789)+(0.25*1.0)=0.842
      This would then likewise give 81% = 0.829 SG.

      I'm probably out a little due to temperature corrections etc, but its a
      start. Better than putting a match & some gunpowder to it.
