Since then, recipes for Krupnikas have appeared in Lithuanian -
      http://lt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krupnikas

Baltasis imbieras (white ginger) is ordinary ginger, but geltonasis imbieras (yellow ginger) is actually turmeric (Curcuma longa)which is commonly available as a powder. It will impart a nice yellow tinge to the liqueur. If you are using the powder you only need 1/2 the amount of the fresh rhizome.

An edited recipe from a 1974 book, Popular Lithuanian Recipes by J. Dauzardis -

      Krupnikas

      1 litre alcohol (35-45%abv)
      1 tsp. caraway seeds
      5 cloves
      5 cardamom seeds
      5 allspice seeds (pimento)
      1-2 sticks cinnamon
      1 tsp. diced ginger
      1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
      1/4 nutmeg
      1/2-1 split vanilla bean
      1 strip orange peel
      1 strip lemon peel
      pinch saffron threads (optional)
1-11/2 cups honey (Linden honey is recommended)

Infuse crushed spices in the alcohol for 2 weeks, strain, add honey and bottle.
