A Russian home distillation site (samogon) gives the following recipe
      for a Bread Mash:

6 litres (1/2 bucket) crushed malted grain
      10-12 loaves of bread
      15 litres of water
      750 g bakers' yeast
Soak bread in water and break up (by squashing I suppose).
      Add yeast.
(It suggest you can add a large pot of cooked potatoes if you have
      only 8 loaves of bread).

      Wal
P.S. Bread is already a baked (cooked) milled grain i.e flour, and
seems like an great waste product to ferment. At least 50% starch
      apparently.
