      If you add sugar the old-time moonshiners call it brandy--no matter what proof you get :) Sugar was first added to the mash to increase alcohol content.

        If you add sugar the old-time moonshiners call it brandy--no matter what proof you get :)  Sugar was first added to the mash to increase alcohol content.  Adding sugar even earned a few the nickname of Sugar(last name).  Couldn't imagine getting a decent proof without the extra help!
