    Yeah Glenn, i ve had a go at this, and it works. If you can get the barrel wet , then get a gallon of rain water, and soak it in the barrel for a few weeks.

      "wet", then get a gallon of rain water, and soak it in the barrel for a few
      weeks. Remember to roll the barrel on to a new position each day. Make up
      some chocks, and position the barrel each day.

      I have heard that people have filled the old bourbon barrels with
      water end up with bourbon ...i know that if they were the water would
      get some colour and taste from the old spirit that was in the barrel
      but alchohol volume can't be there surely ......anybody in this group
      ever tried this .....what is the taste like???
