Group Description

If you are looking for a "get your cat off insulin quick" list, this is not the one for you. Here, we look at whole nutritional health, and what will keep your cat around, in a healthy state, for a natural cat lifetime. Just "getting a cat off insulin" is a cheap bandaid that may still cost your cat, and you, dearly, as time progresses. As with the bandaid, if there are germs under it, then germs will still fester and flourish. Here, we want a whole, healthy cat, based upon sound scientific nutrition.

On this group, if we are unfamiliar with specific protocols and practices being introduced, you may be asked to provide reference material to back what you are stating, out of respect for other members who have the right to explore and choose for themselves in their own home. We are happy to entertain new ideas if they are backed with scientific data.

No discussion on this group will revolve around processing methods -- only ingredients and guaranteed analyses count on this group, as that is what provides actual "nutrition", not evangelistic belief systems as you may encounter elsewhere.

All suggestions provided on this list are given free of charge by cat people who are trying to help other cat owners battle disease. As your cat's caregiver, it is your responsibility to determine whether any advice provided is appropriate for you or your cat.

The assumption is that a licenced, competent veterinarian is being or will be consulted, and any advice given on the list is to be used as an adjunct to good veterinary care, not as a substitute.
