DETROIT (AP) - Light voter turnout is expected for Detroit's mayoral runoff election between incumbent Ken Cockrel Jr. and businessman and professional basketball legend Dave Bing.

City Clerk Janice Winfrey says officials expect 15 to 20% of registered voters to turn out on Tuesday.

About 14.5% of Detroit's 626,000 registered voters went to the polls for the special mayoral primary in February. Bing was the top vote-getter, with Cockrel coming in second.

The winner of Tuesday's runoff will serve out the remaining 7.5 months of Kwame Kilpatrick's second term. A full, 4-year term will be decided by a regularly scheduled August nonpartisan primary and November general election.

Voters also will be asked whether they favor a revision of the 1997 Detroit City Charter.
