Re: [Detroiters] Obama will visit Detroit
- Wow..what happened to funding his campaign with money from the everyday
people? I thought his
campaign was being funded by $1's, $5's, $10's?

Sen. Barack Obama will make his first visit to the city of Detroit as
the Democratic presidential nominee, and his first in nearly a year,
when he holds a public rally and high-dollar Renaissance Center
fundraiser on June 16.
The fundraising event, with tickets at $1,000 and $2,300, will
accompany a public rally of some sort, part of a two-week campaign
tour Obama is making to swing states focusing on the ailing economy.
That tour begins today in North Carolina, where Obama is to deliver an
economic policy speech.
The fundraiser is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on June 16. There are no
details yet on the public event.
Obama, who had stayed out of Michigan all year as part of the
controversy over Michigan's January primary, has made two visits to
Michigan this spring, hitting Sterling Heights, Warren, Troy and Grand
Rapids. But he has yet to stop in the city since appearing at an NAACP
candidate forum in July.
