Some of us girls (ladies, women, old crones like myself) actually like wearing interesting raincoats swuch as these HH always manages to photograph. As well as wearing them, we like to be seen in them as well by others who admire such rainwear, particularly if, again like myself, being large and no longer attractive, the onlooker appears to appreciate the raincoat despite the wearer. I am more than happy to find a suitable opportunity to walk down to our local small town centre wearing my traditionally cut, hooded, longish black rubber-surfaced mackintosh and seeing nobody takes much notice – except see this groups Collected Works (long overdue for an update?) May 2007 about the taxi driver down there!
So, each month, I carefully scrutinise HH’s lovely photos to see which one I would like to wear down-town on my next trip.
      So this month?
The very first photo Vedselgersken, long, hooded and a lovely blue interesting material.
But then the third photo Havnesperringeg and there is my favourite type, a Viking Seventeen with red tartan lined hood. Change the background from the interesting harbour seen to our local shopping marketplace aqnd there I would be, even with the sou’wester. And if I could accidently bump into a Norwegian girl tourist wearing that nice looking brown regnfrakk also hooded and sou’westered, what fun. Invite her home for a cup of tea, hopefully no-one else there and we could really enjoy ourselves once I have explained that visitors never take off their regfrakker whilst in my house.
I commented on last months and took the opportunity to look again at Novembers. No. 5, Kaikos of couse. There I am, again in that delicious dark blue hooded. Yes I'm quite tall in real life. Having found another regnfrakked Norwegian tourist.
      Best wishes Kate
