RE: WHAT SHOULD WE DO ...
In our life, we have a tendency to label our time and divide them up into difference categories. There are work time, play time, chore time, relaxing time, meditating time, family time, go to the doctor time, vacation time, spare time, … Once we labeled time, we boxed them in certain pre-conception and un-intentionally limited its true potential. Example, people usually view work time as more stressful and less fun than play time or relaxing time is more desirable than chore time regardless of the actual experiences.
Mindfulness meditation practice is about recognizing the tendency to want to control and manipulate each moments of our life base on our preference. We practice to open our heart and mind, so that we can really experience each moments as they are. And when we do this, a whole new wonderful world is within our reach.
So as a mindfulness meditator, what should we do with our spare time? I suggested “Live it fully J. Our practice is to be mindful, to be open, to be fully present in all moments of our life. The mindful breathing is a wonderful practice during sitting meditation to anchor us in the present moment and to enable us to see when we are caught in our wantings. It is also a very powerful practice during work time, chore time, spare time, … so that we can be open to experience the true nature of life.”
Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts and have fun with your “spare time” J
