      *JOB TITLE: *Information Literacy Intern
      *JOB DESCRIPTION: *

      This intern will help the Paul J. Cushing Library fulfill the
      requirements of its 2013-2014 IMLS SPARKS! grant, Flipped Info Lit.
      This grant proposes to evaluate extending traditional face-to-face
      information literacy instruction with the creation of small digital
      learning objects produced with lecture-capture software, in cooperation
      with two departments, Nursing and Athletics. For Fall 2013, the intern
      will assist with the planning and production of digital learning
      objects, post-production tasks such as bookmarking and editing the
      learning objects, ingest into the university's digital repository, file
      conversion, campus training sessions, promotional events, a project
      Libguide, and other tasks. A second internship is planned for Spring
      2013 to help complete the work of the grant project.

      *TASK TYPE:*Non-Archival

      *WORK TO BE DONE: *On Site
      *QUALIFICATIONS: *

      *Skills Preferred *One year's experience in an academic library work
      environment. Experience producing, editing, and converting video files.
      Strong preference given to candidates with experience planning and
      conducting information literacy instruction.

      *Skills Required *At least one semester completed in the last three
      years in a library science masters program or a library paraprofessional
      certificate program. Ability to read and follow procedures and
      directions. Attention to detail. Ability to ask questions as needed and
      communicate concerns and issues in a timely manner. Strong computer
      skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Web Browsers & Blackboard,
      and high comfort with technical troubleshooting. Ability to work on
      repetitive tasks. Organized work habits. Good language skills, including
      spelling. Ability to work unsupervised.

      *SEMESTER(S):*Fall 2013, Spring 2014
      *HOURS:* Primarily weekdays; flexible.
      *PAID/UNPAID:* Paid; $10/hour (min.).
