- Sep 8Day 3 - Monday, Sept 2, 2019 - Cozumel. Today we turned our clocks back 1 hour, which gave us a little more time between meals :-). We did not get up till 7 AM, which was really 8 AM.... Breakfast was open early, since we were at port by 8:30 with shore excursions leaving then. We went up to breakfast around 7:30 AM and it was a little more crowded than it was yesterday, but not bad. They do not have French Toast again...hmmm, they do have pancakes and waffles everyday so far. Guess we will have to do a sit down breakfast to get French Toast, but I'm enjoying the eggs benedict, so all is good.
It has been raining and does not look like it will clear up any time soon, but Deb and Loretta decided to head to shore. Loretta wanted to get some Mexican Vanilla. I stayed on the ship, and since our steward was ready to do our room, I went back up to the breakfast area and had more coffee and a banana. I had brought my sunglasses with me and have not been able to find them in our room, so I went down to Guest Services to see if they had a Lost and Found and if my sun glasses might be there. No luck. I had them in the terminal while we were waiting for our number to be called and I thought I put them in my bag, but I cannot find them anywhere :-(.
I headed back to the room and watched more hurricane updates. Looks like it will be up the coast before we are ready to head back home. A little while later, Deb and Loretta returned and they said it rained the entire time they were out. I'm glad I decided not to go.
We decided for lunch we would do the sit down at the Royal Court restaurant, but it did not open till noon. We hung out in the room till then, and then headed to the restaurant. They have a nice 3 course menu, and I guess it is different every day. Today Loretta and I both had the chicken curry, while Deb ordered a couple appetizers and a couple entrees. She was thinking that everything was in smaller portions because they had different columns and we were suppose to order from each column. I helped her eat the fish cakes while she was eating her steak salad. She also tried the curry. Of course, we all got dessert, and I know I got something chocolate with walnuts, it was very good.
After our lunch Deb and I headed up to Deck 11 to Cabana's to see what was being offered for lunch there. We also found where they have pizza, burgers, and sandwiches near the adult area. We did grab a cookie to go, because they were there and they are pretty good :-).
We then headed back to the room and decided to put on the Pirates of the Caribbean, the first movie....although, there are so many, we had to start a couple to find the first one. I think all 3 of us fell asleep. I got up before everyone else and decided to watch A Bugs Life, while Deb and Loretta continued to sleep. They did not get up till 5 PM, which gave us 45 minutes to get ready for dinner, oops, but we did it.
Dinner tonight is in the Enchanted Garden restaurant. It is on Deck 2 and you can only get there mid ship. So, we headed to the mid ship elevators and went down to Deck 2. We were seated right away. The restaurant has overhead lights that look like flowers and they open up during dinner. The lighting also changes as you eat. Dinner tonight was very good, although I'm not sure any of us were really hungry. They had seared scallops tonight, which Deb and I both got, and Loretta got chicken. Dessert ended with another chocolate tart cake thing. It was yummy!
After dinner, we went to the shops. I wanted to check out the Tiffany's shop where Loretta bought her key necklace. Oh, guess I did not mention that Loretta bought a sterling sliver key pendant with a chain from Tiffany's, it was pricey.... They have a nice selection, but everything is so expensive. The one diamond ring was over $50,000...ouch! And we went down to the shops on 4 and they sell ruby and diamond rings, and the one ring was $29,000. Who has this kind of money? 20 years ago when I was shopping for a ruby ring, I found one for $600, and I did not buy....have the prices went up that much?
After some window shopping, for me, I sat and watched the pin trading happening in front of the Walt Disney Theater. Loretta and Deb went into the shops and Loretta ended up buying a T-shirt with all the names of the ports we are visiting this trip. After this, Deb and Loretta headed back to the room to take the purchases back to the room, and I waited in the pin trading area. When they came back we headed into the Theater to watch the comedian / magician. He was very good, not as funny as he was the first night, but very amusing and entertaining.
After this, we headed back to the room and are in for the night. We all have been sneezing, and now my throat is feeling a little scratchy, I sure hope I'm not coming down with anything! I'm going to take an aspirin and go to bed.
Day 4 - Tuesday, Sept 3, George Town, Grand Cayman. We are still on Central time, so I was up around 5:30 AM which is really 6:30 AM. Deb and Loretta were up early also. We checked out the hurricane news, then Deb and I headed up to Deck 11 for some coffee, while we waited for the breakfast area to open. Loretta joined us at 7:30 AM and everything was open by then.
I got the eggs benedict and some bacon, sausage and eggs and enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast with my sisters. It did not start getting crowded till after 8:30 AM and we were pretty much ready to leave. I can't remember what we did after breakfast, we may have just headed back to the room. I know Deb and I went down to lost and found to check for my sun glasses again, but no luck.
We came back to the room and watched one of the Disney provided "On Demand" videos, they have just about every Disney movie made. At noon, we headed to the Royal Court for a sit down lunch. The sit down lunch is nice, but I'm missing the selection on 11. Might have to go back to the buffet tomorrow. But, we do tend to eat too much there. However, the sit down lunch can be a lot also. Who am I kidding, we have just been eating too much no matter where we eat!
After lunch, we headed back to the room and they announced that we were all clear to leave the ship whenever we wanted. We were not docked at a peer so you have to take the tender boats to shore, which I really had no desire to do and did not care if I went to shore or not. Deb and Loretta wanted to go.
Loretta got her stuff from the safe and I remembered that I had put my little purse with my passport in there. And then I remember putting my sun glasses in that same purse....duh! They were in the safe all this time. Well, at least that mystery is solved, I could not believe I had lost them, since I had them in the terminal before we got on the ship and I was sure I brought it onto the ship.
Deb and Loretta left and I ended up napping a little in the room. I swear they were not gone more than 1 hour and they were already back to the room with their purchases. Guess they had T-shirts for cheap, so they both ended up with some new ones. They said it was just a 5 minute boat ride over to shore and the shops were right there.
We all relaxed in the room after that, but did start getting ready for dinner a little earlier today than yesterday. I cannot get used to these showers, I could not get the shower head to stay in one place. I am also missing the walk in showers. I do, however, love that we have a split bath with the toilet and sink in one room and shower/tub and sink in another. That comes in handy when you have 3 women that need to get ready!
Deb and I decided to be twins today, we both wore the same shirt that we bought at Catherines. Some people noticed, but most did not. Dinner tonight was at the Royal Court and it was very good. Again, I ate too much, but isn't that what going on the cruise is all about....eat, eat and eat some more!Loretta decided she did not want to see the show tonight "Wishes" and she went back to the room. Deb and I went down to deck 4 to check out the clubs. The Magician was teaching the audience magic tricks, so we hung out there to watch. It was very entertaining, and he tough us how to make a straw disappear. The kids were having a blast!
After this, we headed to Walt Disney Theater and sat in the balcony area. The doors opened at 8 PM and I did not bother to bring my camera with me, since they yell at anyone who tries to take pictures. The show started at around 8:33 PM and it was different than what I thought it was going to be. We had done the Disney Magic and Wonder years ago and I thought they did a Wishes show then, but maybe it was Dreams. There have been a lot more Disney movies since then, and the show included a lot of great music and characters. It was very entertaining.
After dinner we walked around the ship some and checked out the clubs. The Sky Liner club displays, via video screens for walls, different city's depending on the song that is playing. They were showing Greece when we were there and you could see cars moving. We then headed back to the room and are in for the night.
