Two DDOT employees, Sonya Thornton and Daniel Fluker (both Transportation Terminal Assistants at the Coolidge Terminal), were featured in an article in the Monday, June 30, 2008, edition of The Detroit News. The article, titled "Lonely lost and found: Is honesty a rare luxury in Detroit?" took a look at how hard economic times can possibly affect the volume of lost and found articles left on Detroit city buses. The Detroit News also included a video clip to go along with the story.

(Detroit News photo caption) Bus ridership is up 8 percent, but Sonya Thornton, right, and Daniel Fluker show the slim pickings left behind on city buses and housed at the Coolidge Terminal in Detroit. In hard economic times, fewer items are left behind at the end of a driver's shift.
