Group Description

This IS the place for those who want to "roll their own" electronic drum and cymbal pads, modules, mesh heads, racks, custom components, add-ons, etc, rather than simply buying a "turn-key" off-the-shelf item. It's also the place for those who'd like to modify their store-bought pads to customize them. The focus here is on making your own edrum kit components at low cost, and/or expanding the capabilities of the mass-manufactured pads with a little bit of "tweaking".

If you own a soldering iron, and aren't afraid of a bit of glue and foam, then THIS is the place for you. Build it yourself and save $ (£, ¥, or whatever your local currency is). :)

PLEASE NOTE: TO DISCOURAGE SPAMMERS, THE "APPROVE PENDING MEMBERSHIP" OPTION IS ENABLED (MEMBERSHIP IS LIMITED TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE AN INTEREST IN THE TOPIC WE'RE DISCUSSING). SO WHEN APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP, PLEASE MENTION *WHY* YOU WANT TO JOIN THE GROUP, OFFERING ENOUGH INFORMATION TO MAKE IT CLEAR YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DIY AND ARE NOT JUST SOME VIAGRA SPAMMER, etc.

FOR EXAMPLE, A "JOIN REQUEST" WITH A RANDOM COMMENT LIKE, "COOL SITE" or "I'M INTERESTED" or "I WANT TO JOIN" *WILL* BE DENIED, WHILE A COMMENT THAT IS E-DRUM or MUSICIAN-SPECIFIC (MUSICIAN/DRUMMER LINGO) *WILL* BE APPROVED.

IF UNSURE OF WHAT TO WRITE, BRIEFLY MENTION YOUR MUSICAL EXPERIENCE AND/OR GEAR: BASED ON YOUR WORDS, WE CAN FIGURE OUT IF YOU'RE LEGIT or a SPAMMER.

This forum is dedicated to those hardy DIYers who want to learn from others, but even as important, is dedicated to those who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with others! The focus is on 'real-time' interaction and conversation (asking questions) rather than telling people to use the search engine, so be prepared to ask!

Wherever you are on the learning curve, welcome aboard!

Thanks!
