Group Description

The discussion, player, and announcement group for the DFW Heart of the Cedar Native American Flute Circle which meets in North Dallas, Texas area the second Saturday of each month. Originally started in Plano, TX, this group is open to players of NAF from all over the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding area or to anyone who has an appreciation of this instrument and has access to the DFW area and would like to participate in our Flute Circle gatherings. All playing levels are welcome.

While the main theme is the Native American flute, We Welcome ALL peoples with an interest in the NA flute, Drums, Percussion, and other World instruments, just about any musical instrument. We play solos, in groups, etc. and we at times try to blend other instruments together in the quest to make beautiful music and have fun doing it.

You can bring your own instruments to play or just setback for an evening of listening to others play. We also have flute makers that show up giving you an opportunity to own your own hand made work of art flute!

We will provide amps, microphones, chairs, a home environment, and a fun friendly group of people to too hang out with, talk, play, listen, and eat!

Currently Meetings are held monthly at individual flute circle members homes and the locations will be announced prior to the flute circle meetings. We are in the process of trying to find a new permanent meeting place. The flute circle coordinator is currently myself James Brohard a long time flute circle member and music lover.
