Group Description

Welcome to the online community of DC International Connection: WWW.DCINTERNATIONAL.ORG. After approval, you will be sent interesting cultural events, socials, talks etc. You may post to & receive messages from the entire group. Postings should keep to DCIC's cultural outreach and philanthropic ideals. We will choose the best and most interesting posts that promote these ideals.

How are DCIC events different? Many are nonalcoholic, and our East West Connection forums are often academic. We examine social, cultural, political and religious questions essential to understanding other cultures. We try to focus on learning perspectives outside the American mainstream. DCIC Salons, talks and parties can be a great alternative to "bar culture" or events that rely on alcohol to connect people. Some of this areas most interesting and diverse internationals attend our 'East West Connection' bimonthly Talks.

Posts must be respectful and appropriate, and are subject to approval by DCIC administrators. Adverts, commercial events, fundraising or acerbic comments are not generally approved. Post your event early. Include an email or phone number. When responding to posts, reply directly to the contact details provided. You might want to choose the "special notices" or "daily digest" options to minimize email.

Please note that by selecting "special notices" you will receive notices only of events that are sponsored by DCIC. DCIC has ongoing down-to-earth socials, cultural salons, academic forums and parties. We strive to be hospitable, relevant and culturally diverse.

DCIC is a fast-growing organization and has been featured on numerous media outlets here and overseas. We facilitate deeper connections. Check out our webpage and take advantage of our unique free Person to Person Connection Service
