Re: [DCU] Re: My thoughts on Frank Miller
- "primitivx" <> We can conjecture anything you know. With enough conjectures
I can demonstrate that Hitler would have been a great ballerina.
>Now what does Hitler have to do with anything? I always have to wonder about
people that bring up Hitler in a conversation or discussion. This is nothing
against you. I really enjoyed your first post about Frank Miller, and
unfortunately it turned into a King Leonidas discussion. Your other
observations about Frank Miller were well put. I appreciate your
observations on most things (not 300).
However, the other day somebody at work was talking about another person and
then brings up Hitler out of the blue in a positive way, like "Hitler was a
secular humanist." I am thinking, HUH? So what does that have to do with
anything. Like is that supposed to be a slap at secular humanism, or is it a
shot at the person that was being referred to in the conversation, or is the
guy that mentioned Hitler just some kind of closet-Nazi?
I don't hear people mention Hitler that much anymore (it was 60+ years ago),
but that just makes it even odder when you know someone that likes to throw
"Hitler" into discussions. This is nothing against you, but I work with
someone who mentions Hitler about once a week. It is always something like
"Hitler liked yellow pansies. He was into gardening" or something that is
Hitler was a demented, morbid, violent person who had a very low opinion of
women and a deep belief in the occult. If Hitler had been reincarnated as an
artist/writer he would probably be??? Has Frank Miller done any Hitler
- The Problem is when we say "The arabs", "The Russians". "The Americans", "The Viets", "The
Chinese", "The Muslims", "the Christians",etc. then we depersonalize the individuals and
assume a group is homogenous and with one single will.
The reality is that only a small portion of people, fanatics and such, give a bad name for the
rest of us and them. Most Muslims, Christians, Chinese, Russians and whatever the
denomination, are people who want to raise their family in peace.
