Yep he seems pretty straight to me.
A big welcome to Michael, who has been a media star on Lantra for many years
now. You may remember me from your days in Prague, Michael.
Well, this afternoon I met up with two charming and delightful listmates,
Irena and Alastair. One of the suggestions that came out of our discussions
was that headers might be used on this list similar to those used on Lantra:
TERM + brief reference to subject/field/word :
terminology questions (don't forget context!)
HELP - sometimes used like TERM, sometimes not ;-)
INFO - information about forthcoming conferences, new books, new language
resources on the net etc.
ISSUE - discussion about issues relating to translating and interpreting
(business practices, ethics, training etc)
CHAT - off-topic stuff (weather, birthday's, valentine poems, etc)
ADMIN - something to do with the administration of the list
HUMOUR - Fridays only or else
Use of these headers helps busy people filter out waffle.
It was also pointed out that an element of spontaneity and informality is a
jolly good thing and that we should not get too self-important about
imposing codes of conduct. Comments please, especially from you, gentle
Power corrupts - absolute power is kinda neat.
