      It's not that simple. The good guys are played by Americans, that's true,
      but so are most of the bad guys. The only time the bad guy is played by a
      Brit is when he is supposed to have such a high level of sophistication and
      erudition that no American can match him. That's a compliment in itself, and
      evidence of an American mindrak. Normal criminals -- even organized
      criminals -- are usually depicted as American, but the *evil genius* is
      generally depicted as British, or else as someone who has probably acquired a
      British accent somehow. When is that last time you saw an American film
      where a street criminal or mafioso had a British accent?
