ophthalmologists. 20/20 vision is perfect vision. It means that the patient
sees at 20 feet what a person with normal vision can see at 20 feet. If you
have 20/30 vision, then you need glasses, because you are nearsighted. If
you have 30/20 vision, you are farsighted. The fact that the American
medical profession uses this system is the reason I am speechless when a
Czech asks me, "Jakou mas dioptrii?"
>Hind sight is always 20/20...Everyone sees with perfect clarity after the event is over. In other words,
everyone knows exactly what to do after it's too late to do anything. This
means they can then engage in what we call "Monday morning quarterbacking",
if you want to learn another idiom. The quarterback is the player on a
football team who plans strategy, and people with 20/20 hindsight can always
proudly come up with the correct strategy in the office the day after the
football game (or symbolically after any event).
