        I just like the alliteration of splendiferous cities. BTW I also like the nice fizzy sound of "iferous"

        OK calling all American friends. Don't you use "city" even for some medium-sized towns?

        Even in Britain there are some quite small cities, viz St Davids and Wells.

          Ja vzdycky myslel, ze napred bylo staroceske(?) slovo sumny, pouzivane
          pro veci jako jsou sumne hvozdy atd.. pak zastaralo, ale pouziva se na
          severni Morave, castecne proto, ze v polstine je szumny/hezky, nebo
          mozna jsou to dva separatni proudy, to moravske je proste z polstiny a
          to stare je stare?? Tezko rict
