    Exactly true. It means to rescue someone, also in American English. We use bacon here to avoid saying ass (UK: arse ) in polite company. We also say

      Exactly true. It means to rescue someone, also in American English. We use "bacon" here to avoid saying "ass" (UK: "arse") in polite company. We also say "save our skin" in English.
