Happy new year and stay away from online betting = I always do, so I don't
have a clue what the terminology is... can anyone help me with:

      settlement/settled
      to Win
      Each Way

(going into Czech), or at least explain them properly?

      Context:

      Settlement rules:

Bets are settled to Win unless Each Way is selected. An Each Way bet is a
bet of twice the selected unit stake. It contains one bet of unit stake on
the selection to Win and one bet of unit stake on the selection to Place
according to the terms advertised for the event.

For example: £10 Each Way on Tiger Woods to win the US Masters (£20 staked)
Win Odds: 8/1, Place terms 1/4 odds a place 1,2,3,4
If Tiger wins, both Win and Place bets are winners; £10 @8/1 = £90
      (including stake) plus £10 @ 2/1 (i.e. 8 x 1/4) = £30
      Total Returns = £120
If Tiger finishes 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Total Returns =£30.

... also, what is the mechanism with stakes (vsazena castka) and wins - the
above example says GBP 20 staked and GBP 90 including stake?? sounds a bit
      confusing to me..

If someone familiar with the local bookie dialect just translated the
example above, I'm sure it would clear things up..

      Thanks a lot

      Matej

        Ahoj Mateji,

"settle" by mohlo byt vyplaceni (vyhry se vyplaceji...)
"to win" bude nejspis "sazka na vyhru", oproti tomu "place" bude sazka
na umisteni (tj. ten, na koho vsadis, nemusi vyhrat, ale musi se umistit
        na nekterem z prvnich X mist, v tom tvem priklade je to 1. 2. 3. nebo 4.
        misto)
"each way" - cesky termin neznam, ale ta sazka znamena, ze vsazene
penize se v podstate rozdeli napul, jedna pulka se vsadi na "win" a
druha pulka na "place", pricemz na obe tyto sazky je samozreme ruzny
kurz; takze kdyz tvuj favorit vyhraje, vyhravas obe "pulsazky"; kdyz
nevyhraje, ale umisti se, o pulku penez prijdes a na druhe pulce
vyhravas v prislusnem kurzu; kdyz skonci nekde vzadu, mas smulu.

Ten priklad: vsadis #10 each way, to znamena, ze celkem vsadis #20 - #10
na vyhru v kurzu 8:1 a #10 na umisteni v kurzu 2:1. Kdyz Tiger vyhraje,
        vyhravas z prvni pulky 10*(8/1) = #80 a vrati se ti vsazenych #10, takze
celkem #90; navic vyhravas z druhe pulky 10*(2/1)=#20 a vrati se ti
vsazenych #10, odtud vyhra #30, celkovy celek ("grand total" :-) co
dostanes na ruku bude #90+#30=#120, pricemz jsi do toho vlozil #20,
        takze cisty zisk #100.

Tech 1/4 se na 2:1 promenilo proto, ze u "each way" sazek se kurs te
sazky "na umisteni" udava jako zlomek z kurzu sazky "na vyhru", takze
        (8/1)/4 = 2/1.

Sazky jsou klasicky vyhodnoceny, pokud nebyla zvolen typ sazky
Vyhra/Umisteni (Each Way). Sazka Vyhra/Umisteni (Each Way) je
dvojnasobnou sazkou zobrazene jednotlive castky. Sklada se z jedne
sazky na Vyhru (Win) a z jedne sazky na Umisteni (Place) dle podminek
          uvedenych u konkretni sportovne udalosti.
