      It was written thus:

      >Hi Alastair, Welcome to the list.

      Thank you!

      >My grandfather on my mother's side was born and brought up in Roudnice.
      Svet je maly... ;-)

It rings a bell with me actually - I suspect I may have seen it in an
exhibition of old photographs which was held at the gallery here a couple of
months back. I'll see if I can dig out the catalogue and check.

Would they, though? I suspect that the target market is too
small/non-affluent to make it interesting for a publisher - and not being a
Czech means that getting a publication grant would mean making the project
over to someone else. (And do I want to give away my competitive
advantage....??) Seriously, one possibility is doing a publication
supported by the new archaeology dept. at the West Bohemian University in
Plzen - where Masters students *must* take German or English language
      courses as well.

What I shall certainly be doing, though, is putting up some of the terms,
organised by theme, on a website. This also gives me a possibilty of peer
review, esp. from colleagues in archaeology and museums. The site will be at
www.skriptorium.cz - but don't look now, there's nothing there yet!! Initial
pages are in the pipeline - I am doing them in conjunction with a colleague
who translates heritage-related texts into German.

I tend to hit town on Tuesdays or Wednesdays - including tomorrow, but the
whole day is already accounted for... I'll give you a call. My mobile no. is
0603.274533. Anyone care to join us?

      Cheers!
