      Havana, Jun 1 (acn) Eleven Cuban rowers will try to qualify on Friday
      at the World Cup being held Linz, in Austria, for the final
      competition to take place on Sunday.

      The main candidates to attain this objective are single rowers
      Ismaray Marrero, in the light category, and Mayra Gonzalez and
      Yoennis Hernandez, in the heavy category -all with outstanding
      performances in Olympic Games and World championships.

      The World Cup is being attended by 880 athletes from 46 countries,
      who will participate on Friday in the qualifying, repechages and
      quarter final competitions.

      The Cuban athletes will travel later to Belgium where they will train
      to participate on June 22-25 in the World Cup in Amsterdam.
