- Cuban Vice-president Says Internal Control Must Encourage Quality
HAVANA, Cuba, July 4 (acn) Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Political Bureau of Cuba’s Communist Party and vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers stressed the need to conceive internal control as a way to improve service and production quality.
Diaz-Canel spoke to lawmakers gathered at the Commission on Education, Science, Culture, Technology and the Environment which, along another nine parliament commissions are holding working sessions prior to the First Session of the Cuban Parliament on Saturday.
The Cuban Vice-president referred to a resolution regulating the work of the General Comptroller ‘s Office and he described it as an instrument that should not only place the office as a finder of crimes and illegalities. He said that such regulations must also be used to encourage quality and its relationship to the planning process in each entity.
He stressed the need to involve all workers in decision-taking processes and in finding solutions to the problems. The workers must be well informed about everything that takes place in their work center.
On Friday, the deputies will address the country’s economic plan and budget performance in the first half of this year.
