HAVANA, Cuba, April 4 (acn) Cuba and Poland expressed in Havana their interest in expanding bilateral economic and commercial collaboration, for which both countries count on a huge potential.
During an entrepreneurial encounter in the Cuban capital a visiting Polish business delegation met with representatives of local companies in the sectors of construction, agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, railroad transportation and the metal industry.
The regional director of Poland’s Chamber of Commerce Tadeus Swiatkowkski called on participants to consider opportunities for cooperation and business, both in traditional productions and other fields that may be addressed by the two parties.
The general secretary of Cuba’s Chamber of Commerce Omar Fernandez said referred to the long-standing relations between the two sides and he recalled that they signed a first bilateral agreement in 2001, which is still in force.
The accord has allowed permanent contact over the past years, while there are many actions to jointly take in order to boost bilateral exchange between the two countries, said the executive.
Cuban exports to Poland include cigars and rum, while the European country provides the island with fertilizers and powdered milk.
The Cuban executive said that the current visit will help find business opportunities for the two markets.
