I know what you mean about the mounting...Since constantly adjusting the seat is not an issue I drill the pins out and use bolts..And in between fix would be to drill 3/32 hole near the ends for cotter pins or or the like..As far as seat belts I do plan to put them in but you can't let them alter your driving style..One must still pick and choose route to travel depending on time of day, traffic load..Almost always amounts to "going the back way"..AND having two tail lights and two park lights with turn signals helps big time..After 4 years of driving my car around that people still looked for turn signals no matter how far your arm is out the window, especially at night..
