Reminder from: Crosley Yahoo! Group Title: 1945: Crosley Motors May Buy Plant At Indianapolis Date: Thursday September 13, 2012 Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am Location: Kokomo Tribune article., CROSLEY CAR OWNERS CLUB (CCOC) Notes: Indianapolis, Sept. 13, 1945 - The Indianapolis Star Wednesday quoted Powel Crosley, Jr., president of Crosley Motors, Inc, Cincinnati, O., as saying his firm is "mildly interested" in the purchase of the former Curtiss-Wright corporation plant here.
Crosley, according to the Star, said the Curtiss plant had been inspected recently by his brother, Lewis Crosley, vice president of the firm, and Earl Taylor, superintendent of the main Crosley factory in Cincinnati.
The Star reported Crosley saying in a telephone conversation that he hadn't had a chance to discuss the situation with those who inspected the plant but that he was still "mildly interested" in spite of the fact that the plant is "a little too large" for his firm's needs.
The newspaper said that, if purchased, the plant would become an
assembly plant with automobile parts being shipped from the Crosley engine works in Cincinnati.
