Group Description

THIS SITE IS AN ARCHIVE OF LINKS TO OTHER REFORMED SITES (NOT a dialog group - posts require approval) PLEASE register @ Yahoo.com & {JOIN THIS GROUP} TO ACCESS THE LINK LIBRARY. INQUIRERS: New to the Reformed heritage? Click on {LINKS} in the <<<<. I pray that God may educate you via in Biblical Faith & practice of COVENANTAL and REFORMED theology, ie, the PROTESTANT REFORMATION begun by Martin Luther, developed by John CALVIN, refined 1619 by the Synod of DORT, particularly by the 1648 WESTMINSTER CONFESSION & Catechisms; & in the worship, practice & Discipline of PRESBYTERIAN (originated by John KNOX) POLITY (church government). The Reformation flourished among British PURITANS, esp in Scotland, & their descendants in America. SOUTHERN Presbyterianism & The OLD SCHOOL (vs New School) receive special attention, as divisions resulted from reactions Vs Old School EDUCATION & SUBSCRIPTION requirements. History shows that New School "Pragmatists" used power politics to vanquish orthodox doctrine, polity, & discipline, and Liberalism resulted from merging Old Schoolers into larger New School groups. Old School distinctives MAY (not necessarily) be found in RPCNA 1742; ARPC 1782; OPC 1932; PCA 1972; & newer groups: CRE, RCUS, RPCGA, URCNA. These preserve a commitment via SUBSCRIPTION VOWS (the questions put to church officers @ ordination) TO the Inerrency & Infallibility of THE BIBLE AS THE WORD OF GOD, AND ALSO TO THE CREEDAL STANDARDS in the church's written Constitution. REFORMED Christians subscribe to CREEDS which articulate precisely which biblical doctrines are considered "the fundamentals" by evangelicals but not by modernist "main line" PCUSA, RCA, etc which have diluted church officer subscription vows. Even the PCA in 2003 acted by 60% to weaken its subscription! Moderator: Ebenezer_Erskine@yahoo.com an ARPC minister. PHOTO image depicts COVENANTER martyrs hacked, burned, drowned, butchered.
