I don't think any one this list would be easily offended. Most
theatre/wardrobe people are pretty easy going.
And the first people who talked with me about it did so from a "you don't
know that you're uneducated about this, so I'm going to teach you" point of view,
not a "I'm terribly offended, you ignorant bigot."
I then asked friends from different tribes what their tribe preferred. The
Oneida tribe whose reservation is near Green Bay, the Ho-Chunk (AKA Winnebago)
near Wisconsin Dells, and the Menomoniee reservation about 30 minutes due
north of me all prefer the "regalia" term. I was wondering if it's a
Wisconsin/mid-west thing or had a more universal application.
