I have worked very hard over the past days to invite all of you to join with us in our newly changed companion Discussion Group --- CRLocal@yahoogroups.com --- I want to emphasize that I was sending out INVITATIONS for you to voluntarily join and you had to take active steps to actually become a member.
However, Yahoo intercepted my first attempt at invitations and asked what I was doing --- why --- and wanted the list of all names I was using to send invitations out. I complied. Last night I received a message from Yahoo stating my request was APPROVED and they were taking appropriate action. Boy, they sure TOOK action! Yahoo placed 235 names from my list of people to be contacted with invitations --- ON TO THE LIST OF ACTIVE MEMBERS OF CRLocal@yahoogroups.com ---
I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause anyone and if you want off and cannot do this by yourself --- e-mail me at cleake@... and I will take you OFF at once.
However, now that you are on --- why not stick around a few days --- check out this new effort --- you just might like it. The message, also unsolicited from Yahoo, giving the old rules for CRLocal from back when it was a RESTRICTED Discussion Group, was a mistake --- sent out without my knowledge. The only rules in effect are as stated below:
Rule # 1 - is --- NOTHING about Costa Rica may be discussed on the List. CostaRicaLiving & FutureTicos are available for any questions or comments about Costa Rica.
Rule # 2 - is --- Simply that if any one member becomes obnoxious enough --- and it will be difficult to cross the threshold --- then that person will get a private message and then if he/she remains obnoxious, will be kicked off. No List can be completely open and live.
Rule # 3 – is --- Profanity or vulgarity WILL NOT be allowed.
Rule # 4 – is --- You will NOT insult or attack any member or official part of the Costa Rican Government. Of course, this does not include ICE, RACSA, MOPT or any agency or office offering service to the public.
Things you may do:
In all other subject matters --- All topics are open, including religion, politics, German Chocolate Cake and Political Correctness. Stories of any length from elsewhere are OK. You may legally use any font, colors to your hearts content or CAPITOL LETTERS. HTML is encouraged.
Things it would be nicer if you didn’t do: Insult, attack or “Flame” each other

- Hi all,
The Yahoo site seems to be down, and has been for hours.
If you have a moderated message pending, you will not see it appear until the page is back up.

- Yahoo seems to have changed once again. Today I had to create a new password in order to access it. I heard others were blocked out of accounts, possibly a scam. Who knows what is happening?HelenHelen Dunn Frame

- Yahoo just had a big bunch of passwords hacked. Change your password.
Think about another email provider.
The only thing the financial market sees that Yahoo has going for it is
that they own alibaba.com.
