        Hi Jim,
        I think it is base on a few things. 1) is your brain one that lends itself to languages and code such as left-brain vs. right-brain people 2) are you good with sounds, musically-oriented and 3) do you keep your mind active and flexible (or is it zoned out with tv every night?)
        I believe that is what makes you susceptible for learning languages.
